Par Avion has been providing the bushwalking community with a reliable air service to Melaleuca for many years, operating the most number of flights into the South West National Park each year.
We drop off and pick up passengers at Melaleuca, giving you access to the South Coast Track to Cockle Creek, or Port Davey Track to Scotts Peak. We are the only airline to operate a twin engine aircraft service to Melaleuca, giving an extra level of safety.
Flights depart every day at Cambridge Airport from early morning until late afternoon. Please Contact Us to see how we can tailor a flight to meet your needs. Please note: Due to our flights operating “on request”, you are unable to use our automated system for booking flights to/from Melaleuca. Please contact our office to make a booking, either via phone or email, we will operate a flight with a minimum of two people.
Boat Tours/Transfers – Bathurst Harbour
Boat Transfers from Melaleuca: Par Avion operates passenger boats at Melaleuca which are available with prior arrangement to take your party to various locations within the Bathurst Narrows/Port Davey area, such as Schooner Cove (a popular place to start the South Coast Circuit). Please Contact Us for further details.
Why not include a boat tour on Bathurst Harbour as part of your bushwalk? Your opportunity to see Bathurst Harbour from the water prior to starting the South Coast Track.
Boat tours available from $40 per person for 1 hour, to $80 p/p including lunch.

Food and Freight drops
Walking the Port Davey – South Coast Tracks and need some food half way? Or simply need another package delivered to Melaleuca? We can drop your food package off at the Melaleuca Airstrip for you to collect when you arrive at Melaleuca. Simply drop off your package at the Par Avion Terminal before you depart with your name and required delivery date clearly marked and we will do the rest.
Food/Freight to Melaleuca: $5.50 per kg (minimum of $10)
Fuel at Melaleuca: As fuel is unable to be taken onboard our aircraft, we have fuel available for purchase at Melaleuca. Please bring your own (empty) fuel container.
Gas Canisters: $15.00 per 230g canister
Methylated Spirit & Shellite: $6.00 per litre
National Park Passes
We have National Park Passes available for $30 per person (2 month holiday pass).
Par Avion has South Coast Walking Track Maps (from TASMAP) and John Chapman bushwalking books available for purchase.
