Par Avion and East Coast cruises are offering a spectacular tour to the Maria Island National Park. Your tour commences with a spectacular scenic flight, that takes in the Tasman National Park where we will show you the remote Tasman Island lighthouse and flying over Tasmania’s world-renowned big wave surfing destination, Shipsterns Bluff. There is an opportunity to have an aerial view of the Historic Penal settlement of Port Arthur and see the spectacular cliffs found on the eastern side of the Peninsular, the tallest sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere. We then fly up the Mercury Passage, circumnavigating Maria Island before landing at Darlington on Maria Island. This mountainous National Park is found east of Orford on Tasmania’s east coast.
Upon arrival you will be met by East Coast Cruises for a cruise to see one of Tasmania’s largest accessible seal colonies, found on the Isle Des Phoque. Spend some time with the Island residents the Australian fur seals, learn about their ecology and enjoy time with these wild animals as they play gracefully about the boat. You will be able to explore giant sea caves, see the spectacular Fossil and Painted cliffs, unique springfed waterfalls and the majestic coastline of Maria Island. You will have a chance to stroll to the penal settlement of Darlington and see this world herigate listed colonial township.
